The Lottie Files were named after the German film director and silhouette animation pioneer Charlotte "Lotte" Reiniger. 


Lottie files are commonly used for animated graphics and illustrations. Using Adobe After Effects, these files can be exported as JSON files that can be easily embedded into web and mobile applications, such as in eBooks, games, and other digital media.
